The City of Clermont welcomes you to our website.

The City of Clermont, which occupies 14.37 square miles, was founded in 1884 and incorporated in 1916.  The City is located in south Lake County, approximately 22 miles west of the City of Orlando and 22 miles southeast of the City of Leesburg.  The City is conveniently accessible to Orlando via Florida Highway 50.

The City is essentially residential in character and its economy is primarily centered in retail trade as well as lodging and food and beverage establishments, which are tourism oriented.  The current population for Clermont is 22,882.

The rapid growth we have experienced in the past few years has created new challenges for our city.  Our website allows us to effectively communicate with our residents, businesses, and visitors and become a more efficient organization

in conducting business through the development of this site.  In addition, staff will continue to provide friendly, courteous and professional service.

Our picturesque parks and neighborhoods are surrounded by natural wonders and a thriving downtown commercial center. Any time of year, Clermont is a great place to visit -- come see how we are building a quality community.  There is much to see and do in Clermont! For more information on local attractions, dining and lodging options, contact the South Lake Chamber of Commerce.
